Mat.Works Unveils Striking New Brochure
We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our brand-new Mat.Works brochure, showcasing a fresh, modern aesthetic and a commitment to sustainable solutions. This isn’t just a facelift; it’s a reflection of our dedication to simplicity, efficiency, and environmental responsibility.
A Modern Makeover: Simplicity and Efficiency
Mat.works unveils striking new brochure that boasts a bold, simplistic, and modern design that mirrors the ease of installing our entrance matting systems. We understand that time is valuable, and our products are engineered to empower installers with quick and straightforward installation processes. This user-friendly approach is reflected in our sleek new logo and branding, which embody a contemporary feel.
Introducing Frontier Fusion: Where Sustainability Meets Durability
At the heart of our new product lineup is Frontier Fusion, a ground-breaking sustainable matting solution that’s available in 4 colours: Black Mist, Blue Stone Pearl, Gun Metal and Boulder Grey. We’re proud to offer a product that not only performs exceptionally well but also contributes to a healthier planet.
Frontier Fusion is manufactured from Econyl®, a regenerated nylon derived from pre- and post-consumer waste, including discarded fishing nets, fabric scraps, and industrial plastic. By using recycled materials, we’re actively reducing our reliance on virgin resources and minimizing waste. It is designed with an integrated scraper yarn that is also made from 100% ECONYL® yarn, brushing soles of shoes to prevent dirt being tracked inside.
The Ocean’s Silent Threat: Tackling Abandoned Fishing Nets with ECONYL®
Abandoned fishing nets, or “ghost nets,” pose a significant threat to marine ecosystems. These nets continue to trap and kill marine animals, causing immense harm to fish populations, turtles, and even whales.
Mat.Works is committed to supporting initiatives that address this critical issue. We’re proud that Frontier Fusion utilizes Econyl®, which is made in part from these ghost nets.
The Power of Regeneration: The Econyl® Process
Econyl® is produced through a remarkable process that embodies the principles of the circular economy. Healthy Seas, a non-profit organization, collaborates with volunteer divers, Ghost Fishing, and Aquafil (the makers of ECONYL® yarn) to retrieve these abandoned nets. The nylon is then broken down using a process called depolymerization. This involves applying pressure and heat to break the long polymer chains into their constituent monomers. These monomers are then indistinguishable from virgin nylon sourced from crude oil. This innovative process allows us to create high-quality entrance matting while minimizing our environmental impact.
Eco-Conscious Choice: Building a Sustainable Future
Frontier Fusion is an eco-conscious choice for businesses seeking to reduce their environmental footprint. In addition to the sustainable yarn, the Envirobase backing is made from over 70% recycled materials. By incorporating products that embrace circular economy principles, you’re making a tangible difference. But don’t let its sustainable credentials fool you. Frontier Fusion is built to last. It’s tough enough to handle even the heaviest foot traffic, ensuring long-lasting performance and durability.
