Diversity Carpet Tiles at Abberley Parochial Primary School

Abberley Parochial V.C. Primary School recently completed a refurbishment to improve comfort, acoustics, and sustainability across classrooms. LGM Flooring chose Diversity carpet tiles by Paragon to deliver a durable, high-performance school flooring solution that supports student wellbeing and environmental goals.

Diversity Carpet Tiles Provided A Quieter Learning Space

LGM selected the Diversity range for its superior acoustic performance, achieving 26dB impact noise reduction. This reduces sound transfer between classrooms, creating a quieter learning environment that helps pupils focus and improves concentration.

The sustainable carpet tiles also meet the school’s eco targets. Each tile is:

  • EPD verified for transparent environmental performance
  • Made with over 60% recycled content, supporting a circular economy
  • Certified with Indoor Air Comfort Gold, ensuring low VOCs and excellent indoor air quality

Diversity Carpet Tiles Design and Durability

LGM took advantage of Diversity’s extensive colour palette to create bright, cohesive interiors that balance practicality with visual appeal. The design scheme features “Lupus Grey (811)” as the primary base colour, providing a calm and neutral backdrop, paired with “Grasshopper (550)” accent tiles to introduce vibrancy and energy. The subtle interplay between the two tones adds depth and character, with the fresh green accent uplifting the overall atmosphere without overpowering the space.

This thoughtful combination not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the classrooms but also supports a positive, learning-friendly environment. It’s durable and understated underfoot, yet enlivened by a touch of contemporary colour that promotes engagement and creativity.

Results

By installing Diversity carpet tiles, LGM Flooring delivered a sustainable school flooring solution that enhances acoustic performance, improves air quality, and withstands daily use. The result is a cleaner, quieter, and more comfortable learning space for students and teachers alike.

The installation at Abberley School followed the design vision of using the neutral Lupus Grey as the predominant field tile throughout corridors, teaching zones and communal areas, delivering a sophisticated yet unobtrusive backdrop. Within selected breakout zones, learning pods or connector areas, the Grasshopper green accent tile was introduced as random accent tiles to inject vibrancy. By using Diversity, the flooring remains hard-wearing and easy to maintain, which is critical for busy educational settings.

The acoustic benefit of the 26dB impact noise reduction helps suppress footfall, chair-movement and general ambient noise, supporting improved concentration and creating a more comfortable sound-scape for both pupils and staff. In addition, the Envirobase backing made from recycled material, EPD verification and Indoor Air accreditation, align strongly with the school’s sustainability agenda and the building specifier’s requirements.
